But after reading the author’s acknowledgments, she did mention that she based this story from that one, so it’s not a surprise. In a way, this story resembles Robinhood. She’s so strong to stand against the royals and steal the precarious flower to help make vials of antidote for the poor. So, not only are the people scared but the prince is doing everything in his power to keep his people safe and keep his kingdom from collapsing within itself. But people are growing restless because even within the King’s council, there are members that are growing restless with the king and prince’s reign. For Tessa, she’s come as an avenging angel to her people and with the help of her friend Wes, she steals some of that flower that helps as an antidote to the sickness to give it to those who can’t afford it. However, from an outsider looking in, it just looks like all the royals are taking the only kind of remedy that has been able to cure the fever. In this world, there’s a sickness that has taken over their world and The King and Prince are doing all they can to keep their people and those they love safe. In this book, we follow the story of Tessa and Prince Corrick.
